Here we are facing another New Year already… time has a way of disappearing on me!  As I reflect on last year and try to put some goals for this year front and center I am finding myself digging deep.  Maybe it’s age, maybe it’s watching the girls grow and become their own beautiful souls, and maybe it’s just trying to redefine who I am and what is important right now.

I have realized that old dogs can definitely learn new tricks but it seems to take more practice the older I get!  And I am OK with that.  I am all about giving love, helping others where I can, and sneaking in a few moments here and there to simply enjoy where I am in life and the blessings in front of me.  It feeds my soul to know I have helped someone’s day become a little easier & hopefully made them feel cared for… at school, at events, behind the camera, in my friends’ and families’ lives, here at Tough As Nails, and always in my home.

However, I fall.  Sometimes I sign on for too much and then feel as though I’m not succeeding at much.  Do you ever do that or is it just me?  When I do I turn to the song, You Say by Lauren Daigle.  It reminds me that I am enough and I don’t have to do it all and feels like a blanket for my soul.

I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I’m not enough
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up
Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low?
Remind me once again just who I am, because I need to know (ooh oh)
You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don’t belong, oh You say that I am Yours
And I believe, oh I believe
What You say of me
I believe
The only thing that matters now is everything You think of me
In You I find my worth, in You I find my identity, (ooh oh)

2019 is wide open as long as we show up and open ourselves to the possibilities all around us.  May your new year bless you with opportunities and the time to see the beauty hidden in each day.  I pray that we all take a little time to breathe and remind ourselves that we are enough and we are beautiful in that.
